Voluntary work

Voluntary Work and You

Every charity relies on voluntary work.  Apart from money, time is the most valuable resource that we all either have or can give.

Many of you will recognise the following:

  • Volunteering for the PTA
  • Donating money for a church collection
  • Hosting fund raising coffee mornings
  • Baking cakes
  • Rattling tins
  • Taking part in fun runs

The list is endless – and often feels like it!

Whatever your motivation for volunteering, it often is because a family member or close friend has been affected by something profound.  Financial support is critical, but time is an equally valuable – or sometimes more valuable resource that often you don’t think to give.  Volunteering is vital but don’t forget that talking about the work the charity carries out helps spread the word.

Volunteering is not always tax efficient.  It is an excellent way to tick the box that shows your business is involved in the community, supporting a local charity or good cause.

Nothing feels as good as doing a good deed.  Equally, organisations are always grateful for voluntary help.  Additionally, it’s a great way for people to interact with other people when they are on their own, if they have retired from a busy working life or are no longer able to physically to continue their hobby.

If you have time to give, or would like to know how you can help, please contact me in order to be connected with one of the charities or good causes featured on Ali Unlimited’s website.
